ABOUT US
The Climate Emergency Collaboration Group (CECG) is a philanthropic collaboration between some of the world's largest climate philanthropies.
Our mission is to support and build a diverse ecosystem of actors to drive just and ambitious multilateral climate action that is more responsive to the needs of the world's most climate vulnerable. Ensuring the success of the annual UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COPs) is central to this mission, and we believe that each COP has the potential to be a catalyzing moment for collective action, impactful organizing, and powerful storytelling.
OUR WORK
CECG uses the annual Conference of Party meetings (the COPs) as moments of accountability, helping to create the conditions that will accelerate implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, and secure multilateral action that supports and empowers those most at risk in the climate emergency.
We align the philanthropic community around COP-specific interventions that raise ambitions and enable action
We provide funding to give underrepresented voices a seat at the table, and support initiatives that can make a critical difference in collective climate progress
We engage with philanthropies, governments, and civil society to foster greater strategic alignment around priorities and spaces for partnerships and action at each COP.
Since our launch in 2020, we’ve funded more than 150 organizations, often in places climate philanthropy doesn’t usually focus, helping to ensure the voices of countries and constituencies most affected by climate change have the resources to effectively engage in and influence the UNFCCC process.
